Modern Calligraphy for Improvers
Got to grips with basic letter-forms and keen to learn more?
Our long awaited Improver’s workshops will add depth and dimension to your practice! You’ll work with a new pen-holder, coloured inks and a brause nib to broaden your understanding of the basic strokes and open up new ways of working with letter-forms! This class is suitable for all students from our Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy workshop or for those who have some experience of calligraphy.
Beginners Brush Lettering Workshop
Learn the Art of beautiful Brush Lettering with our Beginners workshop led by the lovely Leanda of Fine Letter Co. Brush lettering is a popular and commercial style of lettering seen everywhere from packaging to greetings cards to signage. It is versatile and easy to learn! All you need is a brush and some ink or a brush pen. A full personalised starter kit is included in your workshop!
Youth and Family Workshops
We run regular Youth and Family Calligraphy and Brush Lettering workshops during school breaks. These are suitable for young artists 12+ to join on their own or for 10+ when accompanied by an adult. You can either drop and go or come and make some beautiful memories together!
All workshops take place in our fully equipped studio:
Surrey Art School, Dean House Farm, Newdigate, Dorking, RH5 5DL
The studio is located in the beautiful village of Newdigate, 15 minutes south of Dorking, just off the A24. Its a lovely rural setting with stunning views and plenty of free parking onsite.
