Easter Youth & Family Workshops 2019

Lets get analog. In an increasingly digital age of screens and fast-communication we’ve designed a series of workshops this Easter that will keep both you and your yooung artists tethered to the present moment for just a few hours. It’s all about putting our hands to good use and realising how much we can make with them! Create a pot, weave a wall hanging, design a t-shirt or learn all about beautiful letterforms with our workshops suitable for kids 8+ and adults too!

Family Ceramics Workshop 8+

Workshop Date: Saturday 6th April 2019

Workshop time: 14:00 to 16:00

Age range: 8+ and Adults

Come and make time to make together with our lovely Family Ceramics Workshop led by Jo Hannah.

In this family friendly workshop you will learn how to form a pot using the simplest of ceramic techniques, ‘pinching’.

This is a lovely activity to sit and do together and can be adapted to suit both young learners and adults. You can carve designs into your pots and add brightly coloured slip to decorate the final vessels!

Family Screen-Printing Workshop

Class date: Tuesday 9th April 2019

Class time: 10:30 am to 12:30 pm

Age range: 8+ and Adults!

Come and make an awesome tote bag or T-shirt in this Family friendly creative Screen-printing workshop led by the lovely Social Fabric AKA Sarah Pimenta.

Sarah is back in the studio this Easter break bringing with her a theme of ‘conscious creativity’ as she asks our young artists and their families (optional) to find their voice - either through text and image - and to use screen-printed t-shirts and bags to send a message to the world!

In drawing, if you can master the sphere, the cylander and the cube, you have the core skills needed to record ANYTHING - from a still life object, to a landscape or a portrait.

If you have a young artist or teen who is keen to learn a few more technical tricks and techniques to make drawing so much easier then send them our way!

Brush Lettering Workshop (10+)

Workshop date: Friday 12th April 2019

Workshop time: 10:30 to 1:00 pm

Brush lettering is a really useful skill for budding artists and can be used to embellish sketchbook pages for GCSE and A level or just as a way to switch off and tune in to something that doesn't involve a screen - so this Spring we are offering an extra special brush lettering workshop to get our young artists writing beautifully!

*Full starter kit included! Downloadable worksheets available after the workshop to continue practice!

Youth Weaving Workshop 8+

Workshop date: Saturday 13th April 2019

Workshop time: 14:00 to 16:00

Lets get analog. In an increasingly digital age of screens and fast-communication this workshop will keep your young artists tethered to the present moment for just a few hours as they are challenged to use their hands and minds to weave a small textile artwork from scratch. They can throw in a bit of heart too if they’re in the mood…

Practical, tactile, fun and thoroughly enjoyable.
