Heart and Mind workshops are hosted by Surrey Art School and led by local Mindful and Creative practitioners from across Surrey.

Each month, we'll welcome to the studio a different meditation or mindfulness teacher, well-being coach or holistic therapist to give you a taste of their practice and offer strategies and solutions to the complexities of just living, breathing and being in the busy modern world.

Ditch the guilt for wanting to focus on you for the evening and learn how to lead a more gentle life that suits both you and your family

Tapping into what makes you happy in your life and surroundings, this practical workshop explores what gentle living means to you and how you can cultivate more of it in your own life.

You'll walk away with a greater understanding of what you value and how to work and live more in line with this (your values), as well as developing an action plan for the way you'll implement your gentle life vision.   Ending with a self-compassion meditation.

SamMantra is a Well-being & Mindfulness practice owned by Sam Weerasinghe in Surrey. Sam is trained to teach mindfulness-based intervention courses such as the accredited MBSR & the Finding Peace in a Frantic World programmes to individuals and groups.

Join SamMantra for an introductory evening of Mindfulness

As humans we learn to train our physical bodies to be healthy and fit but do we care for our minds and hearts?  

Mindfulness is often described as 'being in the present moment’ but what does that mean and how can it help us deal with the day to day stresses of modern living?

In this creative taster session experience some simple meditation and breath work practices to engage your senses and open your hearts and minds to bring calm, peace and gratitude for the life you have. This session will include some visual meditative practices and a short film on Mindfulness to help you connect to some core techniques

SamMantra is a Well-being & Mindfulness practice owned by Sam Weerasinghe in Surrey. Sam is trained to teach mindfulness-based intervention courses such as the accredited MBSR & the Finding Peace in a Frantic World programmes to individuals and groups. Having established her practice at the Medicine Garden in Cobham in 2016, Sam now teaches Mindful Parenting & Mindful Baby courses, works with local schools and charities and runs bespoke wellbeing stress management classes for Nuffield Health in Surrey. 

SamMantra’s mission is simple: To offer Wellbeing Mindfulness programmes that allow individuals to consciously find their own sense of stillness in their lives; express their inner creativity; nurture their minds and bodies and learn to 'just be in the moment’.
