Are you drawn to the moon? Tune into your inner goddess this summer with our Luna Macrame workshop and create a beautiful wall hanging that as a beautiful reminder of that lunar magic!
Workshop date: Saturday 27th July 2019
Workshop time: 10:00 to 1:00
Workshop Location: Surrey Art School, Dean House Farm, RH5 5DL
Tutor: Erin Donahoe
Macrame is a relaxing and therapeutic craft that keeps your hands busy and gives your mind time to rest. The process is meditative and the results a stunning reminder of that little moment of time you allowed yourself to slow down.
Join Erin Donohoe and learn the basics of this historic craft, including suitable materials to work with, knotting techniques and how to build patterns using those techniques.
We'll be creating a full moon inspired macrame wall hanging using either white recycled cotton yarn or black cord. We’ll use foraged wood from the forest to hang your weave from. The patterns of the weave show the phases of the moon, with a josephine knot at the centre to represent the moon itself.
Once we’ve finished weaving, we’ll make final embellishments with gold paint to add a little sparkle to your magical macrame.
By the end of the workshop you'll have a gorgeous lunar wall hanging to decorate your home and will come away with all the basic skills you need to continue your macrame making at home.
All materials and plenty of light refreshments are included in this unique and truly magical workshop.
How to book: Book online to secure your spot. Further information is emailed the week before the workshop. Suitable for absolute beginners. Workshops are for adults, but young artists 14 + can join when accompanied by an adult (18+). Full booking terms and conditions are here.
