Stitch, Print, Stick with Paul Wye

  • Surrey Art School RH5 5DL (map)

This season  the amazing Paul Wye aka Tinker's Trinkets brings his Print-making expertise to the studio with a series of day courses to add depth and new dimensions to your print-making practice. Paul's day courses and workshops are exciting, inventive and introduce unique and original ways of working with print!

We'll kick off the afternoon making sellotape textile strips to start to investigate how to integrate colour, pattern and texture into your work and help you develop your own textile based sketchbook and ideas.

Then using printing, stitch and combination textile techniques you will learn mono-printing, chennelling, collage and simple table weaving to begin to incorporate textile elements into your own practice.

In this fun mixed media session you will use principles of mono-printing and stencil making to print on to fabric before using the fabric that you have printed to begin to experiment with construction and layering techniques.

Expect a fun-filled afternoon with lots of opportunities to PLAY with print and textiles techniques and to make new discoveries about ways of working with textiles!

All materials are included in your session as are plenty of creative feedback, banter, tea and biscuits. Lighten up a summer afternoon and come and play in the studio.
