We need Art as much as we need good works. You need it like food. You need it for inspiration, to keep you going on the days that you are low. We need eachother in that way - Meryl Streep
This season we’re teaming up with The Salt Box for a series of Art and Food events invite you to dine out, connect to nature, nourish your soul and re-wild your inner child in their magical woodland site at the Priory Farm Estate. Soulful, belly full, artful events for all.
Autumn Nature Printing & Family Feast
Thursday 31st October 2019 | 10:30 to 14:00 / THE SALT BOX | PRIORY FARM
Get ready for a burst of colour and texture as we embrace the warm tones of Autumn and capture them on paper to keep forever in this seasonal printmaking workshop led by SAS founder Ellie Green. This is a fabulous way for both adults and kids to learn a simple technique that gives stunning, almost photographic results. Following the art workshop, we’ll sit down at our shared dining table in our woodland shelter for a delicious 2-course feast, cooked over fire by The Salt Box.
Autumn Botanical Pen & Wash Workshop
Friday 8th November 2019 | 10:30 to 14:00 / THE SALT BOX | PRIORY FARM
SAS founder Ellie Green will be bringing a gentle dose of Mindful Creativity to The Salt Box this Autumn with a delightfully seasonal botanical pen and wash workshop where you’ll learn some simple, effective ways to work with with pigment liners before embracing a bright and beautiful colour palette to add a light watercolour wash to your drawings. We’ll take a mindful walk through the woods to gather inspiration and forage for leaves, pine cones and more before returning to the barn for a cosy creative workshop that will leave you feeling calm and connected to this stunning season. Following the workshop, we’ll sit down at our shared dining table for a 2-course seasonal lunch.
MEET THE SALT BOX
A recipe has no SOUL, as a cook you must bring SOUL to the recipe…
The friendliest neighbours…
…we could ever ask for, the award winning Salt Box offer absolutely magical outdoor dining experiences in and around Surrey as well as offering a range of events, courses and workshops from their new HQ at the Priory Farm Estate. They are as passionate about cooking outdoors as they are in using only local, seasonal and sustainable produce on all their menus.
These pioneers have a vision that they are gently bringing to life - a woodland cookery school where we can all learn to cook as we used to - over the fire, with love and care all whilst breathing in the fresh Surrey air!
Not all schools have four walls..
They say: We don’t want to be confined by four walls. We want to move within the seasons, the elements, surrounded by the outdoors and crackling fires. We believe this is what stops us from ever becoming bored as cooks and keeps us driving forward with new ideas, using what are essentially ancient cooking techniques.
What you say…
We’ve had some fantastic feedback on our collaborations so far - have a look at what others think of our Art and Food inspired events!
