Weaving for Well-being
We sleep, but the loom of life never stops, and the pattern which was weaving when the sun went down is weaving when it comes up in the morning - Henry Ward Beecher.
This season we are bringing the wondrous Art of Weaving into the heart of our little school. Led by our new tutor Susannah Bolton - she will be offering beginners sessions early in the season followed by a development course later in the year. Get lost in the soothing motion of warp and weft...
Learn to Weave / Beginners Workshops
Workshop dates: Sunday 7th October (SOLD OUT) & Sunday 4th November 2018
Workshop time: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Workshop level: Beginners
Start your weaving journey with the wonderful Susannah Bolton this season where she will be teaching you all you need to know to get to know your loom.
You'll be working with stunning hand-made notched lap looms and will learn all about the anatomy of the loom before planning a small tapestry and starting to weave.
Susannah will be providing an extensive range of yarns including some beautiful and rare vintage tweed wools and silks!
You'll have the option to work from a planned image or if you're feeling a little more adventurous - to free weave and just see where the patterns, colours and yarns take you.
At the end of the session you'll be taught how to remove your finished piece from the loom - securing and tying off your finished tapestry and will have the option to buy a loom (rrp £50) if you would like to continue your practice at home.
