Autumn Hedgerow Wreath Workshop
If you’ve visited the Surrey Art School studio you’ll know that as far as we’re concerned, wreaths are certainly not just for Christmas! We love the celebrate each turn in the season with a wreath that speaks of the changes happening around us. Lucky for us we’ve found another wonderful maker who shares our passion for all the seasons and are delighted to welcome The Girl Who Gardens to the studio this Autumn!
This season we’ve teamed up with Renee Canter (aka The Girl Who Gardens) to design seasonal Autumn and Winter Wreath Making workshops that reflect the beauty that each season brings and are a little kinder to nature too. Traditional wreaths, although stunning and super popular, are by nature not particularly eco-friendly - see Renee’s Environmental Wreath Manifesto here for more.
Workshop Date: Sunday 29th September 2019
Workshop Time: 10:30 to 12:30
Workshop Location: Surrey Art School
Our Autumn wreath workshops will use a combination of found, gathered and sustainably foraged materials from the local area - bringing in some of the stunning colours and textures that this harvest time has to offer…
During the workshop Renee will show you how to create a more natural, less artificial, mossed wire base for your wreath which you’ll be able to adorn with a delightful selection of harvested materials.
Choosing from foliage, berries, seedheads, pine-cones and more, you’ll create a Hedgerow Wreath in celebration of the Autumn Equinox and the changing of the seasons.
