Course level: Beginners
Course Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Surrey Art School, The Old Dairy, RH5 5DL.

Collograph is an exciting process that uses textures to create a print. Like collage you can combine various elements to make a print plate that is rich and expressive.
On this course you will use texture mediums - usually used in painting, to create a your highly textured collograph plate and pull wonderful prints full of depth and tactile qualities.
You can work freely with the texture mediums or consider being more controlled by using stencils or embossing textures.
Over the course of the day you will be guided through handling the materials and learn how this simple process can be developed to create both abstract and expressive printed images.
We will also explore both intaglio and relief inking of your newly made plates to show the range of effects that can be achieved with this process.
By the end of this full day course you will have produced multiple prints from your own hand-crafted printing plates, developing your understanding of composition, colour and of various 'inking' processes.
All materials, expert guidance and light refreshments are included in your booking. Full booking terms and conditions are here.
