We have had an incredible amount of enquiries from parents looking for a more focused art class for younger artists and we hear you!

So this September we are launching a regular Art class for young artists inspired by the teaching methods and philosophy of our subscribed Sketchbook Club for adults.

Each session will focus not only on building technical skill in working with a range of materials, but also contextualising sessions with learning about artists and encouraging individuality, style and most importantly confidence in creativity for our budding artists.

Note to parents:

These are drop and go sessions but you are welcome to grab a cuppa from us (we always have an abundant supply of teas, coffees and biscuits and you can pick up our free wifi from the car park) and read a book in the car if you don't fancy a round trip!

The theme for the Autumn term is Science and Art and we'll be encouraging our students to act as 'polymaths' making links through their practice between exploring the natural world and learning to record it through drawing, painting, print-making, paper making and book-binding.

The sessions will be led by artist teacher and drawing specialist Susannah Bolton with a curriculum co-planned with SAS founder Ellie Green.

All materials and a sketchbook are included in our sessions and we'll provide light refreshments too. So all you need to do is send your young artists our way and we'll do the rest!
